Shannon Simpson Logo Draft

This is a logo I created for my Girl Scout Daisy Troop.  I used Adobe Illustrator.  It was very difficult to learn a new tool and push myself to be creative.  The colors used for the petals are the colors of petals that the girls will earn while they are Daisies.  The center is the Girl Scouts of USA logo.

  1. I really like this logo! I could see it on a T-shirt, and it would be easy to make a stencil of it for art crafts!
My only criticisms are the spacing issues between some petals on the left; the white 'P' on the bright yellow petal is difficult to see; and you should enlarge the font size for your characters and numbers, the important part is which troop you are!

And, just an idea here, but since you placed the characters at opposing corners you could try to rotate the characters in towards the center. So the T, R, P, 4 would be more askew. That might help the letters look like they're part of the petals.

I love the order of the colors! Great choices :)

    1. Thank you Becca! I agree that the letters need some work and I'm not thrilled about how they turned out so I will keep trying to revise them. I wanted it to be fun and appeal to kids with a clear noting of our troop. I'm glad you were able to see that. Thank you again for your input.

  2. Shannon, I think you did a nice job of incorporating the girl scout logo into something for your troop. I agree with Becca that some of the letters are hard to read and font changes would help. Also curious as to the color path and if the order of the petals signifies something of if you choose the order randomly ( I know you said the color represent the patches, which is great).

  3. Hello Shannon,

This comment is overdue, but I really like where you are going with this design. The only recommendations I have are to make the letters in the petals a little larger and change the font color. The letters are hard to see because of their size and more specifically, the colors in the light blue petal and the yellow petal do not work well together (the white font color is too light for the background color). I would recommend making the font color darker or changing the petal colors for those two petals. Hope this helps!
