Visual Resume (Rough Draft)

  1. Katie,
I like how easy your resume is to read. The line through the dates separates your two sections well.
I do have a few suggestions:
    1. I would switch the head of your arrow from the bottom to the top.
    2. I think you could also move the arrow over a little bit to the left and then center the experiences under education and the employment header.
I think you did a really good job! It looks great.

  2. I agree with Shaun regarding the flip of the arrow head so that the eye is drawn to the most recent experiences and onward. You work experience is organized well to indicate overlaps; do the colors mean anything other than to unite the same job?

I would suggest moving your education side up so that there is some border space between the white "High School" box and the edge. This will complete that frame for your resume. Did you use Microsoft Word?

Great purple background with grey accent for the overall resume. I'd love to see additional colors within that scheme or complementary to the scheme in your content boxes as well!

  3. Great start Katherine - I think the idea of using a timeline as the overall theme/guide post of your resume is a unique idea and will translate well - however the various colors of the boxes, plain font type and hard corners on the boxes are kind of harsh to the eye.

Maybe consider including more images or icons that represent your experiences? Like a stroller for nannying, and the logos for each of your educational experiences?

  4. Thanks for your help! I ended up changing it a lot. I switched the timeline to be horizontal. I also switched the direction of the arrows, added symbols, and consistent colored boxes.

  5. This is great Katie! One thing I would say is that my eye wants to leave the page at the bottom left. Love the use of color and woudl like the name to have a splash as well!
