Raleigh's Visual Resume Draft

  1. Raleigh,
I really enjoyed looking at your resume. I think it is very visually appealing. You have very good consistency with how everything flows from one thing to another.
The only area I felt like I had a suggestion was listing your AHRD courses. I felt like that was the only area that may have been congested. It does go well with your JMU section, but maybe if you gave a program overview that would be more effective than the course listings.
I think your resume looks great!!

  2. I LOVE your resume! I'm very impressed with it and you've managed to fit a lot of information into the space provided. The headings and organization are creative and lead the eye in a manner that is not overwhelming.

You know I love a dark background, and for web viewing it is perfect. But again, keep in mind the usage. If you were to submit this as part of an application to a prospective employer, it would be good to have a lighter version so as to be courteous to those who may want/need to print out your information.

Your coursework bleeds over the edge in a few places, but I'm not sure if making the font smaller would be too much, so play around with that. And finally, the software icons go against the color scheme (I see you modified your work logos to match the scheme) which I think I like because it breaks out of the scheme enough to draw the eye, but it's not too harsh. I can't decide if they would look better matching without playing around with it myself though. There are a few alignment issues with the icons as well.

    Great job, Raleigh.

  3. Raleigh,

Great use of design principals, color scheme, and layout. Your resume is interesting to look at and the lines growing from the letters of your headings work to guide the eye while creating defined sections of information throughout the resume.

My only suggestion would be possibly extending the purple lines at the end of your employment titles so that they line up (the ones in the middle that wouldnt run into anything if you were to do this).

    Looks great!

    C

  5. Raleigh, Your visual resume looks great! I really like the color scheme you used, it is easy to read and makes it look edgy :) I agree with Caitlin, you have managed to fit a lot of information onto the page while being able to use space to make it not look too overwhelming, and look asthetically pleasing at the same time. The only area that I see that could be adjusted is the course list area. It looks as though some of the course names are running off the page. They may not be, but perhaps if you print it out you would be able to see if all of the information fits on the page with space for the margins. Besides that, great job!
