  1. Hey Tassie,

Neat idea for a book - it looks so yummy!

My only feedback is to pay attention to the number of font types/styles used (different fonts/bold/italic/all caps) and font size. Keep everything consistent and limited to only 2 or 3 style variations.

    Great work!

  2. Tassie-

Great picture-taking! They seem a little blurry in the google doc, but I think it may just be the conversion to pdf because the text is jagged for me too.

My main feedback is regarding alignment consistency. Some pictures have the "Step X" and text aligned with an edge of the photo, while some photos have the text aligned with the page regardless of the photo (steps 7, 13, 18, 19)

Also, on the Ingredients list, it was hard for me to distinguish the title from the beginning of the list without any space or additional difference other than italics.

  3. Yes, I agree with Caitlin and Catherine: I love your photos, they really tell the viewer what to do in each step, to eliminate confusion. Some also seemed very blurry for me but I'm assuming they won't in the final one. I noticed some of the alignment/consistency issues also, so just fixing them will help a lot I think! I LOVE your cover page! The box in the bottom right with the green font looks just perfect with the photo! :) On the 3rd page, you use a font that is very serif-y (yep, I just made that word up) AND you capitalize everything. Together, I don't think these two things work well, and make the words really hard to read. Just changing the words to lowercase and using a sans-serif font will probably work well. What is the font you used on page 2? I think that would be a great font to stick with and use consistently throughout this book!

    Great work though!

P.S...so will you re-enact this recipe in real life so we can make SURE it tastes as amazing as it looks in the pictures? haha just kidding!

  4. Thanks ladies! I had issues with loading the first time and had to do some screen shots that made a difference in the sizes of the fonts and caused a blur. Great points. Also, I was going for the coffee table style and had trouble setting up a universal alignment on the pages. While I may not have time to totally realign for this class, I do intend to finish this project over the summer and really appreciate all your ideas which I will definitely incorporate. Likely I will go back to square one to rebuild some of these pages. Thanks for the very beneficial feedback!

  5. Tassie...this looks delicious. Your pictures give the audience great examples of how to complete each step. I also did notice a difference in the style of fonts, so that might be something that you can fix to be consistent. Great job!
