Visual Resume Draft

Just experimenting a little. Here is one I put together where the focus is on the arrows. When I used to work with CADD a lot of my work had to do with replications and labeling and writing instructions for part usage so I decided to use arrows as the focus on my work with different colors being different subjects such as work and education. However, I am struggling on how to incorporate the proper dating method.

  1. Very creative use of shape and color, however, you may want to strive for greater integration of form and color. You could do this by 1) using a more similar color scheme between your background shapes and rectilinear shapes, 2) using more similar shapes in your work experiences and background images, and 3) using complementary colors in your background and foreground images. If you use a warm color such as orange in the front and its complement, blue, in the background, it will give a sense of depth because the orange will appear to come forward.

I wonder what would happen if you reversed the direction of the arrows and they all pointed in to the middle?

  2. Hi Justin,

I really like the background you chose here. I think the resume and the background could go together better with different color choices. Since your dates go in mostly chronological order, maybe you could make a circle timeline in the middle? For example, put
    2011
    2004 2009
    2006
in a circle, with swirls pointing to your descriptions. That's just an idea, but it might work. Good luck!
