E. Anderson UI Draft

We have really awful annual safety training to do online each year.  This is my re-design for one of the training courses.  The old course changes format from page to page, has inconsistent images, and has bad information.

  1. I really like your home page. It looks like it would make navigation very easy. Would the modules need to be completed in order? They are numbered, but it looks like you take then in any order, which why I ask or do you need to pass one to get to the next. I think breaking then down is a good idea. Smaller and less intimidating. The colors work well together and I like the boxes to break things up. The scripty font is a bit hard to read and does seem a bit fancy for an equipment training. I do like that you indicate that there is audio on the home page, but I didn't see this on any other pages. Will the sound play automatically or is this something the user can turn on/off or repeat if needed. Overall, I like the layout/design and it seems as though it would be user friendly. The slide bar at the bottom is a nice feature to let people know where they are in the training.

  3. The home page is the only page that links out to each module separately. They don't have to be done in order, but each has to be done. If people don't go back to the home page after a module, then it will go in a linear way.

I think the script font is a bit fancy too, but I feel like all of the other fonts just looked the same. I want contrast, but I agree it might be too much.

I actually hate listening to the audio during online training. I find that I can read faster than the audio reads it to me. All slides will have audio and the first screen indicates that the entire training has audio, if people want to un-mute or get headphones. Sound will play automatically without prompting for each slide. For me, the signal would be to mute, haha!

Are there other changes besides the script font?

Thanks for the feedback you two :o)

  4. I like that you can go in any order you want. To me that is always a a nice feature in a training, picking the order. I also like the ability to mute the font. Agree that some like it and others don't. I think this looks really good and aside from that one font that doesn't fit it is very organized and a nice layout.
