Marcia's draft poster

I still have a LOT of work to do, but hopefully you get the idea of what I'm trying to create. Pictures are of our students, and I'm still trying to get them all sized correctly. I tried to put the full "do" picture in a prime position of thirds. Any and all input appreciated!

  1. Not sure what the mark in the top left corner is. It's not really on the poster.

  2. I can see where you are going and I like the idea. I would make all of your pictures that are grouped uniform and make the spacing throughout uniform --for some they are touching, others are close in proximity and others have pictures in between them (the jewelry). You may even want to add color so do is one color and don't is another and make always a third color to really show the importance (you might not need do's and don'ts in title this way).

  3. Similar to Andee's tips of proximity, I would suggest making two vertical columns, one "Do" and one "Don't". I would also suggest placing borders around the images, and if possible, lighten the top left images to match the others- they seem a little dark.

  4. Thanks, Andrea and Becca! I had tried "rows" of do's and don'ts horizontally and it didn't work...but I hadn't tried it vertically.

  5. I agree with Andee and Becca about the proximity. Is there a reason the background is fading from blue to white? Just out of curiosity. And maybe use the same font throughout the poster for uniformity (title and captions are different). Also along the lines of uniformity, maybe if you make all of the vertical photos the same size, and the horizontal photos the same size, I think it would add to a more uniformed look (pardon the pun, haha). Overall, I really like the Do's and Don'ts concept and I think that it will be helpful for people, especially with the photos you have to work with.

  6. Make sure to put borders on your pictures!

  7. This poster is very useful! My recommendation is to regroup the pictures. Right now, all of the pictures blend together and I am not sure where to look. I would make the organization of the poster a little more structured, and I think doing so will make it easier to follow.
