Continuing with my Ice House work, I decided to create a welcome poster for new building visitors. The poster instructs the new visitor to use an innovative piece of technology (virtual reality goggles) to get a feel for the building layout. Basically, we are remaking the building map in virtual space (innovative and creative solutions are expected at the Ice House).
The poster alludes to the physical environment having an Oculus Rift set-up in front of the viewer. The virtual reality software would go into more detail explaining how to use the device (if the viewer so chooses). It's all still sketchy right now, but I wanted to get some feedback about the painted style. I saw the style in one of the module's links and thought I would go with it. NOT as easy as it sounded! I may need to remove some color along the illustrations like I did for the title and logo. Or perhaps the painted style combats the illustrations and content?

I really like the colors, but honestly, I am not really sure what you are going for. I looked at the links and they seem like you are supposed to look through something to get an internal view and I am wondering if that is what you are planning. If you are, that would be be awesome. The background is really interesting and the colors work well with your logo. I just don't have the vision of where you are going. Sorry.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way as Andrea. The background is awesome!! Great job! The colors coincide really well with the logo and are light/washed out enough to not look too busy or distracting. The purpose of the poster however is very hazy to me. As a person with no knowledge of the icehouse looking at the poster, I have absolutely no idea what steps 1-3 mean. You might want to make this a little clearer.
ReplyDeleteI'm having trouble comprehending the line drawing. Is this like a periscope? Hmmm.
ReplyDeleteI encourage you to print it out (if that's the intention). Once you see it on paper, you may need to make the lines thicker or adjust the background colors for readability.
