I used Photoshop to create this draft. I absolutely hate it but my creativity is letting me down on this one. I want to create an informational poster for our Daisy troop since we are brand new and recruiting girls. I know that the information for parents should be at the top and something at the bottom should get the attention of potential girls. I just cannot get it to come together. Help!
I think I see where you are going, but you are not quite there yet. I think this needs more color. What if you put the information into the petals? You would need to shorten some of it (for example: all girls welcome; meetings every other wed. 6-7). You could then put a smaller version in the corner either in b/w or keep it. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteI think this poster layout would work if you simply bolded the "where", "when", "contact", etc. of each paragraph (to draw attention to what kind of information is available in each chunk of text). Also place the "For Girls in Kindergarten and 1st Grade!" somewhere along the top- is this a poster for new girls to join? Is this a poster for existing troop members to understand where meetings are? It's unclear without a poster title/heading.
ReplyDeleteTry making the center image bigger. If you're going to use a colorful center focal point do it boldly!
ReplyDeleteShould there be a hierarchy in the text? The part in the lower left is slightly bigger, but just subtly so. Go big with it!
I think you should make the picture and the statements "For Girls in Kindergarden..." and "Daisy Troop 24 Welcomes..." the focal point. Those are what the audience should view first. Then group the more logistical information together.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone, your suggestions were great!
