I like the colors you chose to use. The information and images don't seem to have much of a flow.
The first place my eyes go is to the James Madison University logo, because it is where most of your white space lie. Then from there I go the the next logo of the tree which is another area with white space. From there I go to your images and then the words.
You may want to try creates more cues that will draw my eyes to the information first. The images should supplement the information.
Morgan, I noticed and appreciated your repetition of the vertical lines. I agree with Ray about your choice of colors. They work well together! I also agree with Ray about the positioning and size of the JMU logo. It seems to be the focal point of the piece. What I suggest doing is making your logos (JMU and DOE) smaller and moving them to the bottom of your poster. This way, they won't be the focal point. Once you have moved those and have decreased their size, consider repositioning your images so that they are adjacent to any descriptive text. Use what you know about dual coding theory to align text with meaningful images. This may mean that you will need to resize your text, or that you may need to reconsider your decision to use colored text boxes. You want to create a poster that is cohesive, informative, and attractive.
