After toying around with GIMP a while I was able to make the above poster. I would like to give some better visuals to the text however I found that I need to create paths in order to do that. GIMP is very different compared to Photoshop however it has the tools to create the same results that photoshop can do. I have used GIMP once before but not to this extent. I had to paint the animals and vegetables by hand on a large tablet and add it as a layer. Really would like to add some frills to it after this revision.
