I created a user interface in powerpoint that links to the other pages and includes web links for the resources. However, I could not figure out how to upload a powerpoint show to this blog. What you are seeing here are each of the available pages that are accessible through the powerpoint slideshow that will be uploaded to assignments.
Nicole, I really like your color scheme and that your navigation is on the right/top. I would try to further edit the photo on the contact page as it looks folded or something...? Overall, great job!!
ReplyDeleteI like the colors you chose as well. They are very effective for the goal of your design. The only color I have an issue is the yellow. It works well in most of your document but on the front page I have trouble reading it in the gray boxes. I think the yellow is great so if others feel the same, I might alter the gray just a touch to make it easier to read. Also, will all of the items on page 2 and 3 that are in yellow be linked to various places? If so, I really like the ease with which people can get to things. Nice job.
ReplyDeleteSince this is a website, I suggest using the same layout/menu layout for your front page as you have on the rest of your pages. The front page menu is difficult to look at and just doesn't look as professional as the menu you have on the other pages. I would also warn against changing the items in your menu from page to page. That can be very disorienting for users who are trying to navigate between pages. It would be better to show what the interaction with a menu item does (i.e.: user hovers over a link- link changes color, user clicks a link- link changes color, user is on that link's page- link is a different color, etc.). I think that addition would help the mocks explain the story of the user for your stakeholders.
ReplyDeleteAlso, watch your margins for text (top and bottom), as well as the font sizes on each page. The font size of the main copy should be the same from page to page.
I agree with Amanda and Andee, your color scheme is great. It's really great that you're taking on this project!
Nicole, I'm so sorry I didn't comment on yours earlier! It slipped from me this week. I was about to say the same thing Becca mentioned about the navigation buttons at the top. I'd keep every page listed at the top and have the text highlight in some way to show what page you're on. The headers will still have the page title all big on the top but keeping the page listed with the navigation buttons helps users see where they are in the sequence. Also, I'm wondering if a color scheme with less brown or maybe something brighter might be helpful towards the overall mood. Maybe you could keep the headers dark brown and make the pages white? Or change the headers to the lighter brown and make the pages white? Or everything light brown? I'm not sure but something lighter might up the mood and still keep things professional and serious. Overall, I think you're including great information, your layout is easy to follow and your storyboard is really tight. Very nice!
