These are all ideas for the Virginia Music Educators Association (VMEA) District 8 for orchestra and band. The image is suppose to be an "8" with the upper circle outlining the top of a violin (for the orchestra) and the bottom being the bell of a trombone (for band). I re-vamping their website.
This logo is go cool! I love how you added the instruments in the "8", very clever. My favorite one is the one on the bottom, I think it looks more balanced having the text on both sides of the logo. My only suggestion wold be to make the black image look more like an eight, right now I think it's a little bottom heavy. Overall I think this is an amazing logo!
ReplyDeleteKatie, I love where you are heading with this logo! It's a unique and interesting idea. I agree with Ashley, I think that the 8 is a little bottom heavy. I also didn't get the top symbol in the 8. Is there any way to make it a little more pronounced? I'm not sure that I like the text on both sides of the logo. I think it would be hard to use it like that on a website or in a letterhead. Since the "VMEA" is shorter than the "District 8" and they sit like the number 8's circles, smaller on top, maybe try VMEA above the eight and the other below? I'd have to see it, but maybe that would be better? Again, great creativity and work!
